Since last year's acquisition of Finisar, II-VI has become one of the world's key providers of high-speed optical transceivers for communications networks. The novel coronavirus pandemic - and associated pressure on bandwidth - appears to have accelerated the build-out of new networks, with II-VI reporting a surge in demand for a number of key components.
