Resonator amplifier
The Fraunhofer ILT team's "Innoslab" design does not rely on chirped pulse amplification to produce femtosecond pulses, meaning that a much more compact laser system is possible. With a single amplifier, the latest design delivered an average power output of 620 W, and with two cascaded amplifiers it delivered more than a kilowatt. Combined with a 20 MHz repetition rate, that power level should prove highly effective for industrial laser manufacturing applications. Credit: Fraunhofer ILT.
