OBIS CellX is a compact multi-wavelength laser engine for flow cytometers using co-linear or separated beam foci. It incorporates up to four lasers and focusing optics, reducing instrument costs by eliminating electronics redundancies. It further reduces development costs by accelerating time to market. CellX is available with a wide range of laser wavelength options between 405 nm and 637 nm. All the beams can be independently steered and focused by separate alignment controls under the dust cover. CellX thus provides customer-specific performance but without the usual costs associated with custom laser sub-systems.
The lasers inside CellX include the unique optically pumped semiconductor (OPSL) technology from Coherent that features low output noise, high beam quality, and low heat dissipation, simplifying CellX integration into multi-wavelength instruments. Two CellX modules can be combined to get eight different wavelengths with unified control, to support the latest multi-parameter cytometry applications. CellX can also be combined with an OBIS XT laser, adding ultraviolet output to the palette.
