DA1: world’s first Magnetic Electron Microscope, built in 1948 by DKK (Jeol).
In 1948, The DA1 was the world’s first successful Magnetic Electron Microscope, developed in Japan by Denshi Kagaku Kenkyujo, predecessor to today’s Jeol Ltd. It had an accelerating voltage of 50 kV, magnification of 2500x to 5000x and a resolution of 5nm.
