| Intel's Light Peak platform is expected to go into production by the end of 2010, with the first products to feature the technology becoming available in early 2011. Each connector cable operates at 10Gb/s, and features two VCSELs, two InGaAs photodiodes and a controller chip. Intel only provides the controller chip itself - manufacturing partners including Avago and Oclaro will deliver the optical components and assembly. Credit: Intel. |
