Diamond-turned IR lenses from Spectral Systems, coated with a high transmission Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) protective coating for a longer life is only one example of how our expanded team works together.
This team’s experience and equipment allow us to manufacture IR products to very demanding and precise tolerances backed by quality measurements. Working with crystalline materials and metal mirrors, Spectral first diamond-turns and polishes, then EMF addresses the final coating for the best performance and durability.
EMF offers DLC coatings for exceptional durability, added coating hardness, high IR transmission, and ideal for optical applications. With our proprietary DLC chamber, we are able to avoid non-uniform thickness while controlling adhesion.
DLC is ideal for coating Germanium, Silicon, Zinc Sulfide, Zinc Selenide, as well as Chalcogenides. Our PE-CVD process, combined with a unique coating geometry, virtually eliminates pinholes and decreases all processing defects.
