Coherent has increased the production of its FreD lasers to meet demand from the telecoms industry.
Coherent Laser Division has, for the second time in less than 12 months, increased the volume of production of its frequency-doubled argon-ion laser. These lasers are widely used in the telecoms industry as components of production tooling to write fiber Bragg gratings into optical fiber. To support increased production, Coherent has reallocated an existing part of its Santa Clara facility and retrofitted it for manufacturing.
