Kymata buys Dutch MEMS expertise

Kymata Ltd., a designer and manufacturer of planar optical components and subsystems, today announced the acquisition of Total Micro Products (TMP) for an undisclosed amount. The acquisition will create new opportunities for Kymata to supply products based on micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS) technology.

TMP based in Enschede, The Netherlands, is a MEMS facility providing design, fast-track prototyping manufacturing services for customers in the opto-electronics and industrial instrumentation industries. The products which include cross-connect and silicon optical bench components and pressure and flow sensors will complement Kymata's existing family of planar optical devices.
