High-efficiency, low polarization grating introduced for WDM

17 Jun 2002

Optometrics USA, Inc. has announced a new 600 l/mm grating specifically designed for use in telecommuncation applications. It will reduce costs and simplify system design as a result of relatively flat response in the telecommunications band. That flat response eliminates the need for polarizing elements to maintain high efficiency.

The grating is engineered to provide both high efficiency and low polarization dependence between 1500 and 1600 nm, making it suitable for a wide variety of WDM and other NIR applications. The grating is available in both standard and custom sizes from 6 to 50 mm sq.
