Bookham strikes Marconi deal

UK-based optical component manufacturer Bookham Technology has struck a deal to supply multi-channel DWDM integrated devices to Marconi Communication, also of the UK.

The devices are set for use in Marconi's SmartPhotonix products for optical networking. Called optical channel monitors (OCMs), they measure the power carried by each of up to 40 wavelengths in real time.

According to Bookham, the devices will help the development of DWDM network solutions that can be quickly commisioned and reconfigured when in service. MH
