Tower gets Toshiba's CMOS technology

17 Jun 2002

Toshiba of Japan has licensed some of its CMOS technology to Tower Semiconductor of Migdal Haemek, Israel, a manufacturer of semiconductor integrated circuits on silicon wafers. Tower plans to incorporate the technology into its new manufacturing facility, which will be built next to its current site in Israel. Toshiba is investing USD 10 million in Tower's new plant, which it will also use.

Toshiba will provide Tower with know-how and patent licenses for Toshiba's advanced process technologies. It will also train a group of Tower engineers and managers in its facilities in Japan and provide on-site assistance to support the transfer of the technology to the new plant.
