Dalsa, a Canada-based manufacturer of high performance image sensors and line cameras, will buy MedOptics Corporation for USD 4.5 million. The acquisition is expected to be completed in January 2000.
MedOptics, of Arizona, US, has 16 employees and designs digital X-ray imaging cameras for high-resolution medical applications.
Earlier this year Dalsa acquired Silicon Mountain Design and announced a strategy to expand through internal growth and acquisitions. The latest acquisition will increase Dalsa's presence in the medical imaging market and provide revenue that will allow the company to invest in research and development in this area.
