DigiLens and DuPont Holographics have announced a partnership to market and promote display systems including holographic optical products from both US companies.
DigiLens' application-specific integrated lens (ASIL) and DuPont's holographic optical elements (HOEs) both have computer-generated optical characteristics, which are holographically recorded onto the miniature devices. The optical products combine to allow the signals from a microdisplay, an array of tiny pixel-sized mirrors on a microchip, to be seen in high resolution and colour.
DigiLens demonstrated its prototype of the world's first miniature, full-colour, hands-free microdisplay for Internet- and computer-based applications this week at the COMDEX '99 meeting in Las Vegas.
