Finisar to provide design and test instrumentation for NGIO technology

Finisar Corporation (San Jose, California) will provide design and test instrumentation for next generation input output (NGIO) technology. Finisar will supply protocol analyzers and data generators to the NGIO Forum (Portland, Oregon); the Protocol Analyzer will capture and examine data at 2.5 gigabits per second into 512 megabytes of memory simultaneously on up to four duplex links while Finisar's TraceView software will interpret, format, and display captured data in time order. Delivery of NGIO instrumention will begin in limited quantities in October with production quantities expected to be available in March 2000.
