Agfa, Mitra create new company for software products

Agfa-Gevaert NV (Mortsel, Belgium) and Mitra Imaging, Inc. (Waterloo, Ontario, Canada) have signed a letter of intent to create a new company which will be jointly owned and called IMPAX Technology, Inc. IMPAX will be based in Waterloo and will create and deliver fully engineered software products. IMPAX is expected to branch into software applications for the healthcare community while using the two parent companies' combined resources to improve on the technology of picture archiving and communications systems.
