STMicroelectronics to buy Peripheral Technology Solutions from Adaptec

STMicroelectronics (Geneva, Switzerland) and Adaptec, Inc. (Milpitas, California) have announced that STMicroelectronics will be acquiring the Peripheral Technology Solutions (PTS) group from Adaptec. The acquisition will provide STMicroelectronics with the hardware and knowledge of PTS' disk controllers, interfaces, and read-channel technology.
