Laser Sight Incorporated (Winter Park, Florida) has received approval for its LaserScan LSX excimer laser to apply the CE mark, allowing sales into the European Community. The LaserScan LSX has refractive surgery applications including the correction of myopia, hyperopia, and astigmatism. The LaserScan LSX system is considered a Class II(b) device under the European Medical Devices Directive.
