The Electronic Systems Division of Hazeltine, a subsidiary of Marconi North America, Inc., has received a contract for the qualification and production of the U.S. Navy's new digital interrogator. The open-architecture interrogator, which will replace existing identification friend or foe interrogators on board most combat ships, will bring up to $23 million to Hazeltine. The contract, issued by the Naval Air Systems Command, covers the qualification of 10 first-article units and production options for up to 300 systems.
