DRS receives Shipboard Integrated Communications contract

DRS Flight Safety and Communications has provided its parent company, DRS Technologies, with a contract to develop and manufacture subsystems to connect users of DRS' Shipboard Integrated Communications (SHINCOM) systems with on-shore networks. The award from the Canadian Department of National Defence replaces the current unit on Halifax-class frigates. The SHINCOM systems include communication with airborne, surface, undersea, and satellite platforms.
