Sperry Marine awarded $120 million contract for ring laser gyro systems

Sperry Marine Inc., a subsidiary of Litton, has been awarded a three-year contract from the Naval Sea Systems Command to supply AN/WSN-7 ring laser gyro systems for U.S. Navy surface ships and submarines. The initial order for 32 shipsets is worth more than $29 million and with options the contract is worth up to $120 million. Deliveries of the inertial navigation system will begin in February 1999 and will extend through February 2002.
