Viisage to implement facial recognition program for Illinois

Viisage Technology, Inc., has received a contract to install its facial recognition identification system for the Illinois Secretary of State, Driver Services Department. The system will use computerized search and matching of facial images for enhanced security of drivers' licenses and will use the world's largest-ever biometric identification application using facial images as a primary identification tool. The State of Illinois will use the system to enhance data base security and ensure against issuing fraudulent licenses.
