Consortium expands development of diode-pumped laser arrays

The Precision Laser Machining Consortium, led by the Space & Electronic Group of TRW (Redondo Beach, CA) is expanding its efforts to develop diode-pump arrays, components used to make diode-pumped solid-state lasers. The consortium is a dual-use-technology project funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency to advance both commercial and military technology and applications. The consortium provides funding for additional companies to develop new designs, products, and techniques for producing diode-pump arrays.
