Candela's cosmetic laser on sale in Germany

The German government has cleared several cosmetic-laser products from Candela Corp. (Wayland, MA) for sale in Germany. Included are the ScleroLaser forleg-vein treatment; the ScleroPlus to treat port-wine stains, stretch marks, scars, and other vascular abnormalities; and an elongated spot handpiece for the SPTL-1blaser for linear lesions such as leg veins and stretch marks.

The German clearance also includes the CE mark, which permits marketing of the lasers throughout Europe. In addition, the company has obtained clearance of itsdermatology products from the Russian Ministry of Health.
