IBM provides online patent searcher

IBM (San Jose, CA) is providing a free World Wide Web service for searching information on US patents granted from January 5, 1971, to December 17, 1996. Users may search the Patent Server site by patent number or by keyword in categories such as title, inventor, assignee, abstract, claims, attorney/agent, and patent references. Full images of nearly 1 million US patents issued since 1987 can be viewed. Images of patents issued from 1974 to 1986 will be added in early 1997.
