Tim Day appointed visiting scientist at JILA

Tim Day, one of the founders of New Focus, Inc., has recently been appointed to a Visiting Scientist position at the Joint Institute for Laboratory Astrophysics (JILA) in Boulder, Colorado. The goal of the JILA Visiting Fellows Program is a two way exchange of information between the research community and industry. This opportunity will allow Dr. Day to engage in joint research with senior JILA researchers in the fields of laser technology and precision measurement.

JILA is a leading institute for basic research and graduate education in the physical sciences, with special strengths in laser technology, optoelectronics, precision metrology, surface science and semiconductors, high-performance computing and image processing, materials and process science. JILA is located on the Boulder campus of the University of Colorado.
