David Ray takes Burleigh's reins

Burleigh Instruments has appointed David Ray as its Chief Executive Officer. Ray brings a strong entrepreneurial background in engineering, marketing, and management that cuts across several high technology industries, including scanning probe microscopy, aerospace, access control, and sensing technologies. Burleigh designs and manufactures high precision electro-optical and piezoelectric-based products for applications such as laser wavelength measurement, laser spectral analysis, and scanning probe microscopy.

Ray was president and cofounder of Quesant Instrument Corporation as well as cofounder of Topometrix. In addition to his industry experience, he was also assistant professor of Electrical Engineering at the United States Air Force Academy. He holds a Masters of Electrical Engineering from the University of Wyoming.
