Flat panels at forefront of optoelectronics market, report says

Flat panel displays will lead the growth optoelectronic markets into the next century, according to a report by the Freedonia Group, Inc. The report predicts that high-resolution flat panel displays will achieve 15.8% growth annually from 1994 to 2000-- nearly double that of lower resolution flat panel displays, light-emitting diodes, optocouplers, and laser diodes. Freedonia assesses optoelectronic technology, markets and industry in their 192-page report.
