| The São Paulo team pumped an optical parametric oscillator (OPO) with a green coherent light source to produce three light beams of different wavelengths. The OPO is kept in a vacuum chamber, a cube painted with spots in an irreverent tribute to the Einstein quote "God does not play dice". The vacuum chamber prevents condensation forming on the oscillator as it is cooled to allow entanglement to occur. (Credit: Science/AAAS) |
