The Mitsubishi 532 nm laser is an intracavity-doubled Nd:YVO4 laser, where both the gain medium and the nonlinear crystal form a planar-waveguide resonator. The periodically poled LiNbO3 crystal is doped with MgO to avoid the refractive-index inhomogeneities induced by high-intensity green light in undoped LiNbO3. Each of the individual emitters in the diode-array pump produces an independent lasing channel in the resonator and a separate green output beam. Three channels are shown here, but the laser in Mitsubishi's televisions has 15 such channels.
