| Holey silver plate! An array of holes in a silver film. The hole diameter is 200nm. Even at wavelengths larger than the size of the hole, light can be transmitted through the film through plasmon effects. At certain wavelengths light the transmission of light is enhanced and can even be several times the area of all the holes. |
