| The hybrid approach is compatible with microprocessor flip-chip pin-grid arrays (FCPGAs). Using this scheme Intel has constructed a 1x12 optical chip-to-chip link that operates at a channel speed of 1Gbit/s over 20cm. The firm says that longer distances should easily be achievable. |
