28 Oct 2024 The achromatic doublet lens is used to minimize or eliminate chromatic aberration. Its achromatic design also helps to minimize spherical aberration. Compared with a single lens, an achromatic doublet lens has much less spherical aberration. When used in an infinite conjugate state, their spherical aberration is minimal. Achromatic lenses are suitable for a variety of applications such as fluorescence microscopy, image relay, detection, or spectroscopy. The manufacturing process for achromatic lenses involves gluing two or more elements together. Compared with a single lens, achromatic lenses can form a smaller spot of light. |
