Low Divergence VCSEL Mitigate Key Issues in Lidar and Laser Sensors | |
30 Aug 2024 LASER COMPONENTS is excited to provide updated information on our low divergence VCSEL. Our partners Brightlaser offer extremely compact VCSEL modules with exceptional performance; low divergence VCSELs are a breakthrough in laser technology, providing reliability, performance and affordability. Power (20-60W available) is retained over long distances, as the low divergence angle combined with the focused beam enable Lidar systems to detect objects at greater distances, with increased accuracy. Our low divergence VCSEL’s create a smaller beam spot which results in finer spatial resolution and more detailed 3D mapping, essential for precise mapping and object recognition. This improved accuracy is achieved as the symmetrical beam negates any additional optic requirements. Faster scanning can also be achieved due to the VCSEL’s rapid modulation, and this can result in a more dynamic and responsive signal. An additional feature is the design, which is very compact, making integration easier and more adaptable for a wide variety of systems - measuring only 6.8mm x 6.8mm x 10mm. The VCSEL also has various wavelength options for specific requirements – 808nm, 850nm, 940nm and 1050nm. The FOV provides ample coverage for effective sensing in various scenarios with 120 degrees x 6-8. Further information VCSEL (lasercomponents.com) |
