2121nm Fibre Amplifier for Hydrogen Detection | |
12 Jul 2024 Spectroscopic analysis of gases for monitoring concentrations requires high-quality, narrow-linewidth lasers with sufficient power to achieve a favorable signal-to-noise ratio. For hydrogen monitoring, a distributed feedback (DFB) laser is typically employed. However, the low power output of these devices limits the detection resolution, and for more demanding applications, a more complex system is required. LASER COMPONENTS is pleased to offer Cybel's new state-of-the-art Calipso fibre amplifier, in a 2U rack-mountable or benchtop format, ideally suited for hydrogen spectroscopy. This amplifier is optimised to amplify narrow-linewidth lasers around 2121nm and can be continuously tuned across the absorption line at 2121.8nm, ensuring accurate H2 measurements. It can output up to a record 2W of power, leveraging Cybel’s fibre amplifier technology for exceptional long-term stability. It can also be integrated with a narrow-linewidth seed laser in a master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) configuration, providing a "one-box" source for all hydrogen detection applications. This newest addition to the product line leverages Cybel's expertise in fiber amplifiers, which now cover wavelengths from 1000nm to 2200nm with high power and stability.
