Diagnostic Beamsplitters for Process Monitoring | |
09 Jul 2024 For laser material processing applications, it is often critical to monitor the main beam in real time to precisely control the process. To achieve this for high power applications, polarisation independent dielectric beamsplitters are used to reflect a small percentage of the input power to the beam diagnostic equipment while transmitting the main beam. LASER COMPONENTS produce high-quality dielectric beamsplitters with plasma ion assisted deposition (PIAD) and ion beam sputtering (IBS). These ultra-dense coatings are moisture-free and insensitive to temperature fluctuations. Produced in the wavelength range 248nm to 3000nm for angles of incidence (AOI) of 0° or 45° the beamsplitters feature maximum reflectivity and a high laser-induced damage threshold (LiDT) with minimal thermal drift. Our online coating process monitoring allows us to tailor transmission / reflection ranges, wavelengths and AOI to your specific application.
