Gas Sensing for Refrigeration | |
23 Apr 2024 Refrigeration and other cooling systems can have a large impact on both energy usage and emissions, particularly in warmer climates. While dangerous CFC gases are no longer used, an inefficient or leaking refrigeration unit will still have an impact on the environment; resulting in poor energy efficiency or emissions of global warming gases. Using non-dispersive infrared spectroscopy, it’s possible to design a relatively simple low-cost method of monitoring HFC gases within a refrigeration system. Gases have a unique signature that can be monitored using an excitation source, some optical filters and a detector. LASER COMPONENTS can offer a wide range of all the necessary components to design these devices. Both standard and custom options are available. Speak with us today to learn more!
