LASER COMPONENTS Increases Coating Capacities | |
18 Apr 2024 IAD and IBS for Series Production of Customised Laser Optics LASER COMPONENTS is expanding its capacity for coating laser optics with an additional IAD (Ion Assisted Deposition) system. The company is proud to announce that it can respond to inquiries even faster and produce complex coating designs in quantities of several thousand without any impact on the production of small series and prototypes. We specialise in the implementation of sophisticated customer requirements such as highly reflective mirrors, complex dichroic mirrors, beam splitters with low tolerances, thin-film polarisers with additional optical functions or optics that can withstand high laser powers in a vacuum. This requires compact coating designs that can only be realised with IAD or Ion Beam Sputtering (IBS). LASER COMPONENTS has therefore been consistently investing in these technologies for a long time. “Our customers have very specific requirements. The solutions we develop in close cooperation often push the limits of current technology,” says Barbara Herdt, Head of the Laser Optics business unit at LASER COMPONENTS Germany. “At the same time, we also have to remain competitive in terms of price. These requirements can only be reconciled if we continue to invest in advanced technologies and additional production capacities.” Further information Coated Laser Optics (lasercomponents.com) |
