Knight Optical’s UV Interference Bandpass Filters for use in Astronomy

09 Oct 2022

Knight Optical can offer UV interference bandpass filters for use in Astronomy.

We supply a range of UV interference bandpass filters for a range of applications – all individually QA checked and metrology tested for quality to ensure parts meet customer specification. What’s more, our UV Interference Bandpass Filters are supplied in a range of sizes and shapes with custom coatings tailored to meet your individual applications.

Knight Optical supply precision optical components to customers in astronomy fields. Interference Bandpass Filters are used to transmit a specific wavelength band and reflect the remainder. Our UV Interference Bandpass Filters are typically made for bands between 214-320nm; however, we do stock UV and IR bandpass filter also.

They are often used with UV telescopes to observe a particular process with associated specific spectral lines. Additionally, they are also of use in fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy when known emission spectra are looked for with these filters.

Due to the coating being deposited using energetic sputtering, this makes them very durable and resistant to harsh environmental conditions.

Typical Specs:

All our UV Interference Bandpass Filters are fully inspected on their quality in our ISO 9001-certified, state-of-the-art Metrology laboratory, using our Cary 5000 spectrophotometer. This allows us to work to the highest QA standards and meet the tolerance specifications on these precision components.
