Knight Optical can offer custom-made Infrared Germanium Windows for your thermal imaging applications.

Are you looking for a popular high refractive index and good IR transmission range material covering from 1.8-16µm?

We supply a range of Germanium Windows for a range of applications – all individually QA checked and metrology tested for quality to ensure parts meet customers’ specifications. What’s more, our Germanium Windows are supplied in a range of sizes and shapes with custom coatings tailored to meet your individual applications.

Knight Optical’s Germanium is ideal for your IR applications with its broad transmission range and opacity in the visible region of the spectrum.

Our Germanium Windows are not only used in IR sensors, medical applications and pyrometry; but also in IR imaging systems and thermographic cameras – typically operating in the 2µm to 14µm spectral range, covering the LWIR (8-12μm) and MWIR (3-5μm) thermal imaging wavelength range.

Our Germanium Windows are available from stock or in custom sizes and shapes with Anti-Reflection (AR) coatings on one or both sides, and/or with Hard Carbon Diamond coatings.

Custom coatings for Germanium Windows are available upon request and to your specific requirement, with diameters up to 300mm diameters.
