Wire Grid Polarisers | |
16 Jun 2022 Wire grid polarisers are commonly used to polarise radiation from unpolarised molecular lasers or to attenuate radiation from a polarised laser. Applications include the investigation of metal surfaces and crystal structures at grazing incidence, where polarisation of the incident radiation is required. LASER COMPONENTS offers ruled wire grid polarisers on both CaF2 and ZnSe substrates, covering a range from 2um to 20um. The highly polished substrate is precisely ruled then aluminised, allowing use with high power lasers. Using a holographic production method allows for the use of a much wider range of infrared materials such as BaF2, KRS-5 and Ge in addition to the standard CaF2 and ZnSe. The finer grid spacing achieved in the holographic method improves short wavelength performance, and the wider range of materials extends the wavelength range out to 30um.
