17 Mar 2022 LASER COMPONENTS are proud to offer a new range of extremely high-speed vertical cavity surface emitting lasers (VCSELs) manufactured by Trumpf Photonic Components. Using 4 level pulse amplitude modulation (PAM4), which facilitates the transmission of 2 bits per clock cycle, these new 850nm wavelength VCSELs enable data transfer rates of up to 25Gbps! Available as single chips or in linear arrays of up to 12 chips on a ceramic submount, these VCSELs have a circular beam profile with low divergence angle, suitable for efficient fibre optic coupling. Each VCSEL chip is fully passivated enabling high reliability as demanded by the industry, they are also highly efficient (0.5W/A) resulting in relatively low power consumption. |
