17 Nov 2021 An achromatic lens is used to minimize or eliminate chromatic aberration, and its achromatic design also helps to minimize spherical aberration, which is much smaller than a single lens. When used in an infinite conjugate state, the spherical difference is minimal. Achromatic lens is suitable for fluorescence microscopy, image relay, detection or spectrum applications. The manufacture of achromatic lenses involves gluing together two or more components. Achromatic lenses can produce smaller points of light than monocolor lenses.
