Phase Shifting Mirrors | |
04 Nov 2021 Phase shifting mirrors are used to convert incident linearly polarised light into circularly polarised light. The optical coating on the mirrors achieves this conversion by providing a L/4 phase shift in the incident light. This coating may be applied to either copper or silicon substrates. Phase shifting mirrors are commonly used in applications such as laser cutting to achieve an axis independent, uniform cut. LASER COMPONENTS produces custom phase shifting mirrors to suit your application, with a range of sizes. These components can be produced on a flat or curved substrate, and are available most commonly for 10.6um CO2 applications, with other wavelengths being available upon request.
