Pro-Lite – the new name for Continuum solid state lasers in the UK

Pro-Lite is proud to have been chosen to be the distribution partner for Continuum’s range of advanced solid state lasers, providing sales and support to customers in the UK and Ireland.

Continuum have over 45 years’ experience in lamp & diode pumped solid state lasers and are chosen for their superior beam quality, as well as their performance, longevity and stability.

At the heart of each Continuum nanosecond laser system is a very high efficiency pump chamber to couple flashlamp light into the Nd:YAG or Nd:YLF laser rod. Through the use of a diffuse reflector concept, a high gain is produced with low heat build-up in the overall system. The result is superior beam quality and excellent passive beam pointing stability without the use of the costly active locking technology used in rival lasers.

Continuum also offers a broad spectrum of diode-pumped solid state lasers designed for use in scientific and commercial applications such as ultrafast amplifier pumping, Particle Image Velocimetry (PIV), laser micromachining, and laser marking/deep engraving. Continuum’s diode-pumped solid state lasers offer choices such as: repetition rates; pulse energy; average power; pulse duration; and wavelengths (including IR, Green, and UV).

Highlights from the Continuum range include:

• Surelite 4 – a new high energy 100 Hz diode pumped Nd:YAG laser platform that delivers up to 125mJ of green energy in 10ns pulses, a compact laser ideal for mobile applications.
• Terra HP – a compact intracavity frequency doubled Nd:YLF laser that provides an average power of 75W at 527nm at 3kHz, ideal for pumping Ti:Sapphire amplifiers.
• Mesa PIV – a dual oscillator/amplifier diode pumped Nd:YAG laser that outputs 18mJ green energy at 1-6kHz, a flexible solution for particle image velocimetry (PIV) experiments.
• Seeded Surelite – a compact, injection-seeded, lamp pumped Nd:YAG laser that delivers single longitudinal model outputs of up to 625mJ and 10Hz.
• Powerlite DLS Plus – a high energy lamp pumped Nd:YAG laser that provides up to 2.5J of green light at 10Hz in a high quality beam – ideal for pumping Ti:Sapphire amplifiers.
