27 May 2021 LASER COMPONENTS is pleased offer polka dot beamsplitters which are an effective broadband solution, maintaining a constant reflection to transmission ratio over a 250-2000nm range. These optics exhibit a surface pattern of aluminum “dots” on a fused silica substrate, achieved via a combination of a photolithography process and the vacuum deposition of aluminum. Beam slitting is achieved by the reflection from the aluminum dots, and transmission through the uncoated regions of the substrate. Although the design angle for polka dot beamsplitters is 45 degrees, they exhibit minimal angle and wavelength sensitivity, giving them a big advantage over dielectric beamsplitters. Polka dot beamsplitters are available in a range of reflection – transmission ratios and sizes.
