Here at Knight Optical, our Colour Glass Filters are both cost-effective and highly durable. They are manufactured by injecting coloured dye into a glass substrate, which gives them their sought-after colour and spectral performance. Whilst they’re easy to cut into custom shapes and sizes, they are, however, limited in colours. If your application operates in wavelengths outside those provided by Colour Glass Filters, you may find our selection of alternative options more appropriate.

Applications

Suitable for a wide range of uses, Knight Optical’s range of Colour Glass Filters can be found across a broad spectrum of industries, such as the Entertainment & Design, Laser Technology and Infrastructure & Transportation sectors, for example.

Common specific applications include:

LED Lighting: Our Colour Glass Filters are regularly specified for downlights within stage production. Thanks to their ability to separate different visible wavelengths and filter out unwanted light from a white light source, they enable the desired coloured light that is perceived by an audience to be a highly saturated or intense colour.
CMOS Sensors: As well as IR-Cut Filters (which are also available through Knight Optical), Colour Glass Filters can also be used for CMOS Sensors. They’re usually specified in all variations – Bandpass, Longpass and Shortpass (of course, dependent on the wavelengths that need to be blocked) – resulting in key areas becoming more easily distinguished.
ANPR Cameras: Knight Optical’s Colour Glass Filters are used for a range of ANPR Cameras too. The wavelengths typically specified by ANPR camera manufacturers include 695nm, 740nm, 810nm, 850, 910nm and 940nm.

With many more uses – including Laser Range Finders, Inline Cameras and IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) applications – Colour Glass Filters are incredibly versatile and boast a broad range of applications.
