AFR’s ClearCut™ TC-FBG, a Tunable Chirped Fiber Bragg Grating (TC-FBG) module for ultrafast fiber lasers, is an optimal solution to manage the pulse dispersion. Thanks to their ability to process any material with high accuracy and minimal thermal effect, ultrafast lasers are a unique tool in a wide range of applications, such as precision manufacturing and medical operations. Majority ultrafast lasers adopt the chirped-pulse amplification (CPA) technique to avoid amplifier components damage and maintain maximum peak power (see Physics Nobel Prize in 2018 for more background).
Based on our advanced ClearCut™ manufacturing platform, TC-FBG is specifically designed for high-energy femtosecond lasers by offering sufficient pulse stretching. In addition, its tuning feature helps offset nonlinear effects induced by high energy density. As a result, TC-FBG can enhance the time-domain pulse profile quality and shorten the system development cycle. An all-fiber design creates a compact and environmentally stable package. Programmable control of the TC-FBG module is done by an AFR-made controller via a 25-pin RS232 interface.
