LUCID Adds 4th Gen Sony Pregius S 16.2 MP, 20.4 MP and 24.5 MP to Triton™ Camera Series

28 Oct 2020

Richmond, BC, Canada – Oct 27, 2020 – LUCID Vision Labs, Inc., a designer and manufacturer of unique and innovative industrial vision cameras, today announced that the new Triton 16.2 MP, 20.4 MP and 24.5 MP cameras featuring the 4th generation Sony Pregius S image sensors have entered series production.

With the latest Sony IMX542, IMX541 and IMX540 global shutter CMOS sensors, the new Triton cameras provide even higher resolutions in a compact 29x29 mm size without sacrificing image quality. The 16.2, 20.4 and 24.5 megapixel Triton models maximize the possible resolution in a C-mount format. The combination of a smaller pixel size at 2.74 μm, backside-illuminated structure (BSI), and high sensitivity are some of the key features of Sony’s 4th generation sensors. Additional sensor functions include dual ADC with built-in combination, a short interval shutter function as well as monitor output for exposure period.

“After integrating the 4th gen Sony Pregius S image sensors in our high speed Atlas10 camera series, we’re now pleased to add the standard speed versions of these sensors to our compact 29x29 mm Triton camera family,” says Rod Barman, Founder and President at LUCID Vision Labs. “These new sensors offer some of the highest resolutions in compact sensor sizes while maintaining overall sensitivity thanks to their backside-illuminated 2.74 µm pixel size.”

LUCID’s “factory tough” Triton cameras set a new price performance standard in the industrial camera market. Active Sensor Alignment for superior optical performance, a lightweight, compact 29 x 29 mm size, and IP67 protection rating make the Triton camera suitable for a wide range of industrial applications. The M12 Ethernet and M8 general purpose I/O connectors provide a robust connection resistant to shock and vibration and are protected from dirt, dust, and water. The Triton camera has a wide operating temperature range from -20°C to 55°C ambient, ensuring reliable operation in challenging conditions.

All LUCID cameras conform to the GigE Vision 2.0 and GenICam3 standards and are supported by LUCID’s own Arena software development kit. The Arena SDK provides customers with easy access to the latest industry standards and software technology. The SDK supports Windows, Linux 64bit and Linux ARM operating systems, and C, C++, C# and Python programming languages.

The new Triton models TRI162S, TRI204S and TRI245S are in production and available for order. For more information, please visit our Triton product page or contact Sales.
