Knight Optical’s Beamsplitters for Food Sorting Systems

Our Beamsplitter Cubes are one of the most commonly used optical components within industry-leading food sorting machines. Installed within the machine's camera-based device (or optical system), Beamsplitters divide incoming single-lens light sources into different channels – each of these channels are then filtered into a specific spectral region.

Beamsplitter Cubes allow P-polarised light transmission and reflect S-polarised light at 90º. The quality of the cube itself is typically defined by the extent and accurate beam deviation of transmitted and reflected polarised light – also by the extinction ratio of the cube.

Similar to Non-Polarising Cubes, our Polarising Beamsplitter Cubes are AR-coated on the outside faces to reduce reflection. Manufactured to the highest possible quality, they are formed by optically cementing two precision right-angled prisms together along the hypotenuse length.

Available as custom-made components only, our Polarising Beamsplitter Cubes are supplied in application-specific dimensions and tolerances to meet the exact needs of every project. What's more, custom coatings can be applied to our Beamsplitter Cubes; providing optimum transmission and protection for all types of camera-based food sorting machines.
