Knight Optical’s λ/10 Mirrors for Imaging Applications

28 Apr 2020

Available in a wide range of substrate choices – such as BK7 (or equivalent), Zerodur, Quartz, UV Fused Silica (plus many more) – Knight Optical’s λ/10 Mirrors are regularly specified for high-end imaging systems across a wide range of industries. Whether your application operates within the visible, ultraviolet (UV), near-infrared (NIR) or infrared (IR) spectrum, we supply a wide-ranging portfolio of λ/10 Mirrors suitable for a variety of uses. What makes our λ/10 Mirrors so popular amongst those specifying for imaging systems is their ability to produce a better-quality signal from the mirror, resulting in sought-after higher quality imaging.

Available as stock or custom-made components, in Convex, Concave and Planoconvex component types – manufactured in accordance with each project’s stringent requirements – our λ/10 Mirrors are made from low expansion glass for optimum stability, and to maintain the lambda/10 flatness. What's more, to ensure the production of unparalleled premium-quality images within these systems, our λ/10 Mirrors can be applied with a variety of coatings to ensure that the perfect quality image in the wavelength you require is achieved. Such coatings include:

Enhanced aluminium 94%R for visible applications

  • 99.9% dielectric for laser use in visible applications
  • Ultraviolet (UV) aluminium for UV applications down to 180nm
  • 98.5% dielectric for laser use in the NIR applications
  • Ion-plated silver for NIR-2000nm applications
  • Protected gold for 750nm to far-infrared (FIR) applications
